|
|
Within the month, I hope to have in my hands, my first "real" Selmer (Paris not USA), a Super Action 80 Serie II alto. My pos Armstrong came back from the shop and the tech said it needs an overhaul. I sure don't feel like putting money into something I'm not gonna use as my primary alto anyway (intended on getting a pro horn anyway). So...yipee!

Your guess is as good as mine right now; like I said, I hope to have something in by the month and to have a plan finalized by next week (first payment or a down payment). _________________ JP

Congratulations! I am probably going to keep my SA80-II alto for a while until I decide that I like the new P. Mauriat that's coming tomorrow.
I'll say the II is the easiest blowing alto I've ever played. I use a good ol' Selmer C* vintage mpc. It has a dark sound for an alto. Not too shrill in the notes above G2, palm keys play really well, screams with a Link tone edge mpc and is really set up tight!
I hope you like it as much as I did, I was just ready for a change! _________________ Greg Smith
