Hello everyone, and the warmest greetings from "la belle province du Québec"! This is my first post, so sorry if I seem sort of newb at all this, I really don't mean to!
Anywho, I have to play a song on my sax in front of my whole school... (A big 78 people... W00T!), and I'n nervous about song selection. I mean, I want something that will impress, but won't take long to learn (I practice intensively when I need to learn a song, as I'm sure most people on this forum do). Anywho, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions?
Thanks!
-Joe
Oh! I almost forgot! I play alto. Now THAT was almost a n00b moment. .

How long does it need to be? You could do Brecker's intro to Delta City Blues if it doesn't have to be that long. Most people should like that.
Harlem Nocturne might do for something longer.
Flight of the Bumblebee, maybe. Concertino da Camera.
...and of course you could do like Coltrane's solo on Countdown or Parker's on Klaunstance or something. |
