Ava Lemert, owner of ACDC Graphics has provided us with a logo, which I'm sure y'all have noticed by now. Ava is also an active contributor to the Forum Any comments on the logo? I think it looks great. .

Alright, time to bust out the Spanish...
Pienso que una camisa serķa una gran idea para FotS. Tengo a un amigo que siempre hace camisas de costumbre con logos en ellos.
Heh, ok i'll stop.

He he he... I had to look that up on Bablefish, Bariman!
JP, yeah, you know what's wierd, though, when I was in HS, I would have gone into graphic design in college if it were in existence then, but the closest thing was called "commercial art" and signs and lettering at the time didn't appeal much. This "was" 1989. No graphical internet, not much in the way of graphics programs, my art teacher in HS was very sad that I was going into music recording, not music and called my mom in. So, it all comes around, I didn't get my degree in design, but I've been doing it professionally, actually, my first pro gig was a teeshirt design for my sister's dorm at USC. Then when I went there, I earned some money doing all sorts of design work for campus groups, even did a storyboard for Rebuild Los Angeles-- a non-profit group formed after the 1992 LA riots. Yep, I was there, in Watts. Scarey stuff.

Design has it's tough parts, everybody and their brother has access to the software and can call themselves a designer -- I suppose it's such a subjective field that it's to be expected?? I have had the challenge of being PC-based in a MAC-nazi field, AND, my experience is my resume, not my education (although I've been doing art all my life). Every field of work has it's bumps, luckily, I am pretty much past that "proving myself" thing, I don't advertise, and I can pick and choose my projects. The fun ones, of course.
So when David inquired about logos, I jumped on it, because that's my favorite. I designed our community band logo (our uniforms are the teeshirts we had made with them on the back) and I was invited to be on the city's parade committee because I donated the design for the parade theme and posters. I hope to do it again this summer. So, I suppose, I "do" still on occassion perform "pro bono" but not really. Exposure is great and things are good! _________________ Visit me!
