This is the industry standard, but by no means the only great sax. In fact, I've played on a few crap-tastic MK VI's and they can be very temperamental and inconsistent in response from one to another. That said, I love my horn and wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Does anyone else have experiences with vintage selmers they'd like to share?

Does a Signet count?

I've played a friend's Selmer Signet. Wow. Might've been made in the USA but quite an exceptional horn. To say it has a bright and warm sound is an understatement. This horn can lull an audience to sleep or put them on the edge of their seats. It's that versatile.

Blessing?

Whatever floats your boat. The newer ones are crap IMO. Wouldn't touch them with a 20 ft pole Shocked
