Alto sax to soprano saxHey all, I haven't been here for a while with all the loads of homework I've had this year. Anyways, I have been wanting to try playing the soprano sax lately, but if you read my post on the Other instruments section of this forum, you will notice I already have enough instruments as it is. I have a YAS23 alto, but I wasn't sure if I could get even a cheap NAME brand soprano to trade my alto in for or not, considering it is a student horn. I was wondering if there are soprano's in the same price range as the YAS23?
Sorry this is so long

I've never been happy with any Jupiter products, but my school ordered a Jupiter soprano and I must say that this is the first solid quality sax I have seen and I believe that it's around $1,000. It's a student, but even then, their top of the line Artist Series is $1,700.

I don't know when, but I might be getting a soprano saxophone sooner than I thought! I'll still probably have to trade my alto , but to me it should be worth it since I have another alto I can learn to live with

No SopranoHey everyone,
It turns out I won't get a soprano for a while b/c I am paying off a guitar and just got my new piccolo(ebay) 2 months ago, but I might check ebay for one .

I don't know about price, but those Yanagisawa sopranos are gorgeous...
Good luck with the new horn!
If you can get it...

Alto sax to soprano saxYes I just bought one, a Yanagisawa 981. Looks great but hard as h*** to play. But then this is my first sop, and I expected it to play just like my alto.

If you are looking for a playable, quality, newly manufactured Soprano, but priced considerably lower than the big 4 (although they are copies of the Yani horns), both the much discussed Antigua Winds 590 and Kessler and Sons Sopranos retail for less than a grand.
