Best Buescher?

What, in your opinion, is the best model Buescher ever put out? Feel free to rank them!

Buescher True Tone
Buescher Aristocrat
those are, IMHO, the two best Buescher models ever.

The Top Hat and Cane (Model 400) is probably considered the best by many argumentative Buescher nuts Cool

I'll agree with Joel largely on this one, but my personal favorite would be the Aristo's.

YOU ARE ALL WRONG.

It's the New Aristocrat.

Mr. Green So there.

Hmm, when I was in school, 60's throught the 70's my late '50's 'crat was an awesome player. I don't remember it saying 'new' on it anywhere. Wish I still had that sax.

I believe that the 'New Aritstocrats' was the earliest Aristocrat model. Their serial numbers were from: 2627xx to 267xxx. Yours, however, is probably a Series III 'Crat. What's the s/n?

Sorry, I sold the horn many years ago, so I don't have that info. Still that late 50's vintage 'crat was an excellent sax.

I just picked up the Buescher C-Melody #158---, rebuilding it myself, just stripped it down, and cleaned it up, in prestine condition, all original, down to the mouthpiece, adding Music Medic Roo Pads, with Sil Koyak Resonators, all new felt/Cork/ Blue Steel Springs.

original took really good care of this horn, I just broke the handle on the case, Blue felt lined, ordering new handle.

any suggestions on a mouthpiece that will brighten the sound, good playability, I understand that these horns produce a tenor quality darkness.

Thanks all

I don't have much advice to give, but I think there are some modern pieces out there that could give you the desired effect. Check out cybersax.com for some of these.
