Can't believe this...

Just looked something up on Yamaha...

They use NYLON boosters on their pro saxes...even the 875's...wtf? My LaVoix which is considered intermediate even has metal boosters! Maybe that's why their horns are cheaper than Selmer! Practices as the such...maybe? Sad Confused

So what?? What kind of reso's do you think Selmer uses on the Ref 54 and the Serie II?? What did they use on the VI?? Nylon. Who cares?? It really doesn't matter. It's not as if they're cutting down on spending or anything; plastic reso's are MORE expensive than metal!! Before bashing Yamaha, I suggest you get your facts straight.

It really depends on what reso works the best with each horn.

Murphy I think it's more a matter of preference...the metal boosters in my horn give me edge along with other things. And you said on saxpanet that plastic was more expensive than metal. What drugs are you on? Plastic grows on trees (for the most part)...metal has to be hand made!

Murph, LOL, the link you provided showed that the metal ones were more expensive...especially the silver ones. I'm starting to wonder about the drug part.
