I prefer to use metric, especially since I am taking science courses. It's much more precise than the English system, though I still like using Miles instead of Kilometers in regards to distance on planet Earth, and Feet/Inches in regards to height, and Pounds for human weight. Everything else I prefer in metric.
It was proposed to try and convert the United States to the metric system years ago, but so many people are too lazy to learn something new... i.e. the new system, so it never got anywhere.

I use the metric system for everything, because that's what is commonly used and basically, that's what is taught in schools here. I find I don't have a need for the imperial system... and if I do have to use it I always have to convert it back to the metric system.
The metric system is so much simpler, and is in base ten. Everything is standardised - all of the prefixes are the same for the same number, e.g micro, milli, kilo, mega, and giga. It makes converting centimetres to metres to kilometres etc. so much easier!

Both. I use the English system daily, but when I'm in Chemistry class I'm forced to use the metric system.

I use the metric system for everything in chemistry and physics classes, of course. However, I still use imperial units for mass - I have no idea how much I weigh in kilograms. Also interesting is how the diagonals on TV's and computer monitors are still measured in inches... (eg. 42")
