How difficult is soprano to learn?

I always hear that soprano is not a good sax to start learning sax on. That most people give up learning within their first year. But I want to know the truth. Really how hard is soprano to learn?

Well CMelody, guess I'm the guinea pig. I started on the soprano because I love the sound, and THEN somebody said that wasn't the right way to go because it's the hardest. Oh my...I have been at it for about a year and have no plans to give it up. Even thinking about buying another one. Maybe I'm just hard headed or a masochist.

Really from the standpoint of someone who doesn't know any better (me) the soprano doesn't feel any more difficult than my piano, but I've no sax experience to compare it with.

Hopefully in a few years I'll be able to give a better answer. I just know I love it.
