I own a.....

AS500, as I am still a student. It was at a good price so it does me well.
JPSaxMan

I'm thinking...what does it look like, or do you have pics? Looks from pics on Google like an AS300 with some different things...clear me up on this. Yea, most of the Selmer USA saxes (not LaVoix) are great student horns. I've played on a TS200 which is Selmer's cream of the crop student tenor and I found it all right. I would still rather play my LaVoix, but hey, who's complaining? Mr. Green
Thomas

Super Action 80 Serie II alto saxophone w/ gold plating. My avatar says it all. Mr. Green Cool
JPSaxMan

Oh wait...you have the GOLD plating? Not just clear lacquer? OMG...*drools*....must be nice!!! Cool
Thomas

Yes, it's very shiny! Mr. Green Very shiny, and very expensive, too - it was $4k! Embarassed
Bariman

Yeah, GP ain't cheap. Pure gold runs abour $430-450 an ounce these days.

OMG Thomas!

Can you post pics? PLEASE?!? Laughing
JPSaxMan

Oh btw, I own a...

Selmer LaVoix tenor saxophone in clear lacquer Cool
Thomas

JP,

Sure, I'll try and take a few pictures of my sax. I won't be able to post them on the net, though, so if you want pictures of them, just PM me, and I'll send them to you. That goes for anyone else who wants to see what my sax looks like.

However, I may not get this done for a bit. I'm going on vacation to Shuswap lake, BC for about a week, so I probably won't have the pictures until I get back. I will try and get them to you as soon as I can. Wink
JPSaxMan

Tom,

Why can't ya post them on the net? Afraid of someone over-drooling....Wink
JazZz

I own a Selmer Paris Series III..I bought it to replace my Bundy II..I all so have a Bundy I for marching band.
JPSaxMan

Serie III what? Alto or tenor?
JazZz

Sorry, Alto with gold plating
JPSaxMan

You have gold TOO?

Ggrrr....you guys are makin me jealous Laughing
JazZz

(If anyone wants to trade Very Happy)

I got my alto with gold plating for a little more than $3k. I got a great deal on it.
JPSaxMan

I'm thinking of getting one of those References...

But you still can't have it Laughing

It's either a Reference or a Custom EX (Yamaha)
Louis Scuderi

I have a Yamaha.

References are nice, but given a the choice, JP, I would get the EX.

PS- Of course I would rather have a Z.
JPSaxMan

I think I'd rather have a Z too now that I know that the EX's are more classical type horns Cool
rob

Two great Selmer horns, big and little:

A SA 80 Serie II Bass and a SA 80 Serie III Soprano.

They both play great, but the bass is the head-turner. Best described as looking like a pregnant bari.
reisio

Mark VI alto
JPSaxMan

Nice Cool
altosax4ever

Selmer!

Selmer super action 80 serie 2, with clear lacquer and also a yamaha 23, my marching horn, actually still in great shape!
