i thought i'd post in here to revive this thing, than just make a new thread...
so i've been a drama techie for 2 years now, i became head lighting and sound technician and board op for both, depending on where i was needed. We got a new drama teacher (old one was fired for being a lazy bum, and it was only 1 year with her!) and she saw what i've done and wants me to audition for the musical. We are doing the Music Man, so i was hoping i could double in pit and stage, but she is forcing me to go after a singing role. I've never sung in front of people EVER, so i don't even know if i can do it. I am musical and can hit my pitches because we sing our music in band, but I have no musicality about it I think. I was wondering if anyone can give me some help here with telling me what i'd have to do. My best friend in drama (and best actor we have) told me to try out for the role of marcallus (sings shipoopi). So i guess i'll be doing that.
any band kid have experience with doing the musical?
