New Ref 54Does anyone here have any experience with the new Selmer Reference 54?

I played one and it warbled on low B and Bb, but otherwise it was a great playing horn.

OMG... ...you lucky lil
That warble is a common problem on the 54's for some reason ??:

They all have that strange warble? ??: I wonder why? I have noticed that Selmer did a very good job in re creating the Mark VI, the Ref 54 and the Mark VI are like twins,.... except one has modern keywork.

Well, I should rephrase that
It's not uncommon if you get a 54 with that warble.
Actually, the only modern key on the 54 is the high F# key (alto I mean)...the tenor 54's use Serie III keywork (except for front F)...note on the alto the front F is a pearl and that the fork F# is like the old VI as well as the spatula keys (D#/C)

Actually...I've played it as well, and It's quite a good horn. The bottom note warble can actually be easily fixed by a repairman's ajustment, but you could just look around till you found one without it.

I 've tried the Mark VI alto and Reference 54 and I found them different. But I also have heard that many Mark VI's are different so I might as well go try another one

Actually...I've heard a few Mark VI's that were horrible!

I own a refrence 54 and though it didn;t come with a warble, i had to get the neck recorked because it would only fit the slemer C* mouthpiece that came with it and also the neck clamp had to be adjusted a little bit. But besides that it really is a reincarnation of the mark 6 to a certain degree.
