Bari Altissimo

Does anybody know where I can find a bari sax altissimo fingering chart? I know that tenor is different from alto, and I was wondering if bari is also different.

www.wfg.woodwind.org...then go there and look up the sax altissimo fingering and bari and the other sax altissimo fingerings will be there Cool

Very good resource JP. Use a search engine and try out lots of different patterns. New horns respond much differently than vintage ones and vice versa. Even different horns within the same make can have different optimal patterns.

I just use the same fingerings that I do on alto. I'm not trying to brag, but I that it's kinda cool that I once got I think like a double-high A on bari Shocked . That sounded 2 octaves above first altissimo A for alto

Bariman,

I've heard that vintage saxes are very temperamental like that in general Cool

Yes, on some of the earlier saxes (that only go to high eb), altissimo is something you really have to work for. That's why I stressed the importance of trying different patterns, especially on bari.

Back then, tone hole placement was not controlled by supercomputers like it is now. That is why some altissimo ranges are either very stuffy or just dead. It gets better on the smaller horns, but on bari and bass, you really have to fight it sometimes to get the really high stuff.
