Best type of Sax!Ooooo...this is gonna spark some converstation..
What type of sax is the best? Alto, tenor, sor, etc??? Why?? And, to take things further, what's the best brand?
of course it'll be alto

The tenor is THE instrument for jazz.
I obviously have no bias when I say this...

I don't have a favorite, I do prefer tenor over alto and bari, but I feel both have their place. I bought a pro tenor before pro alto, but then again that might have been because I was put on tenor in our jazz and wind ensembles, if I had been on alto I might have opted for an alto.

I'll have to go with tenor for this one. Alto a close sencond.

Well, I know I'm going to ruffle a few feathers with part of my answer, but....
TENOR is the BEST....
and Yamaha's are the best instrument, with Buesher being up there too (vintage ones, that is)

Alto is my personal favorite for jazz. Tenor comes in a close second, but it is fun to improv on the bari.
Oh yea, Selmer is the best brand, not yamaha or whatever else

Well, there is no "best" brand, but I feel Selmer is superior to most other horns. But I have yet to try out any modern Selmer Paris horns (I played on a Super Action 80 tenor that was my BD's). But I would be almost certain that Selmer is superior.

I'm a Yamaha fan. But I'd have to say that Selmer does make some superior horns,
