One simple way would be to buy a cheap saxophone and dismantle it.

Yes, thanks, buying one of this is easy, but you must to know, that in Argentine, the resurces, are not like yours.
One of these, cheap model, cost about , u$s 140-180. I s a lot of money for me, just for copy it.
I´m a homemaker, a musical instrument artisan. I build quenas, sikus ,cane flutes, pvc flutes, stainless steel flutes and some else.
I´ll like to make a xaphoons.
I´m waiting for help
Thanks you.

Considering the amount of time you're going to have to spend with trial and error anyways, you can probably get the general dimensions by just taking a piece of string, going to a music shop and taking a bunch of measurements of a sax. You should be able to find a shop, or just a sax player, willing to let you wrap your bit of string around it a bunch of times to measure.

Something else you could try is to find a 3D model of a saxophone online. With the right 3d modeling software, you should be able to "unwrap" the model and print it out as a blueprint/diagram. The issue with this, however, is that the better a model is, the more likely the creator will be selling it, not giving it away for free. It would also have to be compatible with free 3d modeling software, or you'd have to spend money again.

If you're still at it in a year or two give me a yell, I plan on trying my hand at 3D modeling & mass production of instruments.

OK, thank you for your help.
I will try to find a model in 3d available, since work with that sofware type.
After my first tests I will warn you about the results.
Nevertheless, if you know some place where to find a model 3d, please send me the address.
I will continue looking for
Thank you
Mauricio

A quick google for "3d model saxophone" will get you stuff, but the first results will probably be expensive.

If I had to guess, though, I'd say there are free 3d models online, they might just take a little while longer to track down.
mau

Ok, let us begin to look for it, the one that finds it first warns
again thank you
Mauricio

No...those don't look like accurate representations.

This one is much more accurate, but as you can see the price tag is significant.
Cliff

omg! that is almost the real thing!!

WOW! It's nice to see technology can help people in so many ways now.
