His solo on "Milestones" was superb. I really didn't dig him much in his recording of Autumn Leaves, but he has the tonal center that every serious alto player should strive for.

Try him on "Them Dirty Blues", with his brother Nat. That solo on Jeannine...woah momma...

Work Song is probably my favorite Cannonball tune. His solo on it is just brilliant. Heaps and heaps of soul. Cannonball is definately up there on my listen of favorite saxophonists.

Sorry I got in on this late, but I'm new here. Cannonball; what a talent. He has to be one of the all time favorites. I just finished digitizing one of the best Cannnonball albums I have heard. The album is "Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley". The stuf on this album in my opinion is some of the best they both have done. A little know fact is that Cannonball was responsible for encouraging Nancy Wilson to go pro. The other album is "Milstones". What a combination of inovators. Miles Davis, John Coultran and Cannonball Adderley.
