Overindulgence! What is the most you've ever splurged on a sax?
Did you regret it later?
Any stories of paying too much for crap? (Mk. VI )

Extra reeds: $12
New swab: $10
A Yamaha Tenor sax that could be best described as intermediate: $2,500
Learning from your experiences by taking a $1500 loss... Priceless.

And actually it would have been for MasterCard
Reeds: $100+
Mouthpieces: $200+
Acessories: ~$50
Selmer LaVoix tenor sax: $1,500
Learning that the sax of your dreams would have cost you another $2,000...priceless

there are not many choices for music stores around my area..there are two local competing stores. Well, me being a naive little student didn't know that I shouldn't go to any of them but there wasn't much choice. Anyway, I was on this renting deal from one of them, and after a year they said "for only an additional 1,000$$$ you could own this beautiful Bundy II that you've been playing on. My parents said 'why not, he loves it' and it came out to being $1,500 with the rental i had been paying on it, only to find out that you could get it for $500 if I was to venture an hour away to musical heaven (this awesome store).
I thought that was heaven until I went to 48th Street in NYC..gosh they have every musical instrument you could ever want! That's where Roberto's Woodwind, and a few other big name stores are.
