Repair Shop Experiences

What are some of the bad experiences you've had with someone repairing your sax?
saxy lady

does it have to be a bad repair incident or a bad incident which led to the repair shop?
CMelodyMan

It can be either one.

Well...

My first Selmer LaVoix tenor came to me de-funct, so I sent it back 20 some days later after our concert and after my director and I came to the conclusion that it was something mechanical... Sad Crying or Very sad . If you consider that a repair shop experience.

But listen to this; my first LaVoix came in a case that was NOT boxed and the sax was NOT in wrapping and the keys were NOT being held by corks...odd, right?

My replacement that came just this past Wednesday came in it's own box besides the one it was shipped in, and the saxophone and the neck were in plastic wrap, and the sax had corks in place sealing all the keys shut...

What does this mean? Was my first one play tested or something? If it was boy did they **** up because they missed the error in which I had to send it back Confused
CMelodyMan

That must've sucked.

I have a good story about something that led to the repair shop..............

it happened during pep band (basketball season)

Anyways, my sister and I were sitting there, cause it was in the middle of the game and we weren't really doing anything and then all of the sudden a basketball came flying out of nowhere and hit the neck of my sisters alto. It bent the neck to about a 90* angle to the sax body.

It was horrible.

But, the magical repair man managed to fix it, and all that's left of the horrible basket ball incident is a slight dent it the neck.

Geez.
Did you have to pay to have the replacement sax shipped?
CMelodyMan

Dang, that is horrible. Good thing your repairman could fix it.
