The saxophone is built such that such a thing as a mute would be very impractical, except when playing the lowest note. Most of the air going into a sax comes out the tone holes rather than the bell, and so blocking the bell is pointless when playing, for example, middle G.
However, some people have tried to market something to the effect of a mute, usually found on eBay for about $5. I would just advise stuffing a shirt down the bell.
