The Longest Improvised solo.....What is the longest improvised solo you've ever heard? I know that Giant Steps was like 10 minutes long!

Wowsers.
Longest improv solo I ever did was 24 bars on "Green Onions"...it was kind of dull IMO because I had only two years experience in jazz band at the time and wasn't the best at improv at that level! Boy ya should hear me now! :D

Do you have any audio clips of you improving?

Yea, here's a small clip of me doing it for my review on the Selmer LaVoix...
This is the site of my review; click on the sound clip file and voila!
If you want more, I most likely can make more...came up with a pretty good lick today :D

Pretty good? That's all I get?
Thanks...I guess it wasn't that bad. After listening to it a couple times I found that I was sharp in the low Bb because I was going right from the upper range all the way back down and wasn't dropping the jaw any . The one thing I loved about that recording was around 35 seconds...that was just off the top of my head that little skip from G right to D, but it sounded pretty cool.

Well....none of us are perfect at improv,....except maybe me!
Seriously, that wasn't that bad. But it did have its qwirks, but like I said, nobody's perfect at playing sax. Keep it up kid, maybe one day you'll be the next Plas Johnson, or Charlie Parker.

Well that clip on there now isn't the one I had...if ya want the one I had on there when saxmaniac was commenting let me know.
And no offense taken, I don't take offense to anything, I just don't believe anybody's points until I hear you play. Then I make my opinion

And honestly, if you've been improv-ing your heart out for two years, it could be better than mine. Different people have different improvisational abilities. CMel can improv circles around me (and maybe you?), and I also think his tone and sound are nice. But I have yet to hear anything of yours, so I can't say anything about you just yet

Going back to the original question...
Longest continuous improvised solo I've heard on recording is 41 minutes... pianist Keith Jarrett playing a solo composition ("Sapporo, Part I") of his live in Japan. The album is the Sun Bears Concert if you're interested in some amazing piano playing.
As far as saxophonists go, Coltrane and Sonny Rollins could go for hours if they had to. The common long lengthed tunes from Trane are usually 30-40 minutes long (especially during his final years aka 1966-1967). I believe "Ascension" is about 40 minutes long.
