Today was a pretty good dayFirst of all, me and some friends at school have finally formed a jazz/funk band. I'll be playing tenor, and it's looking like we will have a few gigs pretty soon. Plus, as of last night, we now have a district "all-star" (honestly, who decided to call it that?) jazz band, and I'm in it. I'll be playing tenor here, too, (most likely lead, since none of the other schools have any decent tenor players, but that hasn't been decided for sure yet). With all this sudden tenor playing, I think a new horn is in my future!

Yea Tully! Good luck man, I don't know how much you'll need, but you have it from me!
Remember...Selmer...Selmer...it works into your brain like a parasite....Selmer.....Selmer....
I know you're not a Selmer guy so I'll stop. Yani? Yamaha? Dude, get a new Sandblast Custom Z! Limited edition! Perfect timing!

Thanks.
As for the horn, I will be on a pretty small budget (don't know for sure how much), so I'm afraid all the Selmers I like will be too expensive anyhow. If I want something good for my money, I'll have to go with a used instrument, especially because there are two local shops that sell lots of great used/vintage horns, so I should have plenty to choose from. If I had my druthers, though, I think I'd get a Yani 991--that's my favorite modern tenor of all the ones I've played (haven't tried a Ref 36 yet, however).
