Vibrato on high GI'm not sure if this is a beginner's question, but here it goes:
When I try to vibrato on high G (on the alto), it always seems that the note sort of slips down an octave. I think it is because I need more air, but I was wondering if it was something different. Any help?

Could be lack of air support, but I doubt it. Possibly a leaky pad. Try this:
Hold down Keys B, A, G, F, E, and D, and then activate the G# key Nothing should happen, if the horn is in good adjustment. If you see that G# pad cup left a little, then you need to get the horn to a tech to re-adjust.
Also, it could be a problem in your embrochure, but if no other notes are having problems, then it is probably a pad leak.
