Marching band. It's now at the point where the football stands stay filled during half time, rather than emptying. People like to stay and watch. The football team comes to our marching competition to cheer us on. Second most is pep band. During football season last year, the football team was undefeated during away games that the band went to. (That was 2). Also, we're important during basketball season. The teams bring us in donuts to thank us.
After that is probably jazz. And that's for the community. Our jazz band has gone to different places outside of school to play. And our jazz combo (which I'm in), won first place at the talent show this year. So jazz is probably the next biggest thing.

Whats most important at our school? Well not counting the football team. In my school football is the most important thing in the world. Im not the biggest football person, in fact i avoided football games until the 8th grade when the band director started letting the 8th graders march because the high school band was so small. Out of the bands, it has to be the Marching Band.

In my school, everything is given the same importance, from the lowest concert band to marching band, our director finds places for all of them to play and finds ways to make them all feel important. My favorite right now is marching band, and once that is over it will be Jazz. Our Marching band is very supported, we went to a contest an hour away and a whole lot of the teachers from our school came and some of our friends! It was very cool.

Well at our school it's concert band (technically it's called concert orchestra but since our string players are on strike at the moment it's more commonly known as windband!!!) But out funky band aka jazz band are becoming a lot more popular recently maybe because of our new material ??:

Well,
As I think about the bands in my school, marching band is actually the least important. We don't even have a football team, so go figure ??:. Wind Ensemble is prolly the most important then jazz band then our concert band then marching band.

oh yea, I COMPLETELY forgot about wind ensemble. 1. wind ensemble (the director is CRAZY, so I might as well join jazz band and concert band) 2. jazz band 3. concert band (we don't have a marching band, don't know why though)

My school likes to focus the most on concert band, then marching band, and then jazz band. Jazz band is optional, BTW.

At our school, according to our band directors, it's Symphonic Band, Jazz Band I then it doesn't really matter. We do marching band for fun and go to ZERO competitions, although we're pretty good. Our pep band is good too.
According to the students, pep band, marching band, jazz band (I or II), symphonic band (better band), then concert band.
I'm just glad music is as important in our city as it is. (There are more mailings about music than any of the sports.) Of course, I live in the city in which Meredith Wilson (composer of The Music Man) was born.

Well, let me point out first of all that in Canada, we don't have marching bands in school. In fact, there's not a single school that I know of that has one. Probably for a good reason, because football isn't really that popular, either; at least at my school.
Since my school is K-12 (the only public school of this kind in Canada, by the way), the high school portion is relatively small in comparison to some of the other gigantic high schools out there. Even though it's a performing arts school, for some reason, our music program is pretty under-appreciated (and under-attended). That being said, we still have pretty much the best music program in Edmonton.
To answer the original question, I would have to say Jazz Ensemble I, no question about it. We've gotten numerous comments from many adjudicators, and professional musicians who attend our concerts, that our band can "swing". Though the flow of musicians into the band has somewhat dwindled over the past few years, we still manage to harvest a pretty decent crop every year.
Even though, like I said, our music program is not as recognized as some of the other departments, the recognition that it does get is always positive. And that, to me, is a true honour.
