What ligature do you use?Right now i use an FF ligature. www.ff-fortissimo.com It's a great lig. But before I used a vandoren lig, and a bay lig. I think the Bay lig is great.

I use a Rovner Dark for alto and clarinet. Awesome ligs, the Rovners are.

I'm suprised everyone uses Rovner. To me, I think the rovner deadens your sound. That's why I prefer something more free blowing and more vibrations like the FF lig or the FL lig. I think the Vandoren Optimum is a great Ligature too. it has 3 interchangable plates, 1 lig for all styles~

Rovners don't deaden the sound if you follow the instructions, and grease the metal parts. I regrease mine weekly with cork grease.

Oh yea, I use a Luyben ligature on clarinet now.

soprano: Rovner Dark (but the previous owner basically turned it into a Light)--for whatever reason, it helps my intonation, and makes the upper register as un-shrill as possible
alto and tenor: generic cheap metal lig--works well enough, so why change?

Rovner dark for nonjazz with a Selmer S80. Metal Selmer C** has its own fitted metal ligature - for jazz.
