I think there may be a couple other threads on this subject somewhere, but I'm too lazy to check. :p

I use normal Vandoren reeds with a Selmer S80 mouthpiece for nonjazz; Hemke reeds with a metal Selmer C** for jazz.

Question- have you found any difference between the filed and unfiled? I tried both and couldn't feel/hear any difference between the two, or was that just me?

Rico Jazz Select 3, French filed, or
VanDoren ZZ 3 on Otto Link 8* Rubber

And no. I can't say I can tell a difference between filed and unfiled. The quality of the cane seems to be more critical.
