i just cannot get high d. It comes out as a very high flat note every time yet I can get the higher e and fout pretty good. do you think it could it be something mechanical? What should i look for?

I presume you mean High D as in palm key D w/octave? There might be a problem in the high Eb pad sealing, which would throw of high D, but wouldn't be noticed in any lower notes. Try slurring. If that dosen't work, take it to a tech, or break out the leak light if you have one. It's hard to diagnose the problem over the internet, so a live tech will be the best situation.
