When I listen to jazz music on the radio, I never hear an alto sax play a solo. Why is this? Is jazz alto sax dead?

Nah, it's just that most would rather hear a mellow and sometimes edgy tenor than the always edgy and bright alto...this seems to be the general consensus from what I've seen :sad:  ??:
