Two words; Self Control...it's really a mental matter IMO...just keep your fingers glued to the keys and keep reminding yourself not to move them...and before long you won't even have to think about it Cool

I've been more focused on not 'flying' as it's called for like, almost a month maybe since I've been taking private lessons (which help a ton) and I've noticed I can do faster/more challenging passages with a bit more ease. Cool

It's the same thing as stringed instruments. If you want to play faster, keep your fingers on the keys/fingerboard.

Hey, I've had this problem too, and found a great way to solve it: sellotape. (sticky tape?! don't know what americans call it :P!) but seriously. You know if you get a friend to sellotape your fingers to the keys a couple of times (make sure you do not injure your sax when doing this) you get the feel of it... and darned it hurts so much when youtake it off you'll never let them off again.
