No, they're not considered a 'good' sax. But they used to be so cheap that you could afford one as a beater or something. Recently however, their prices jumped a bunch, so they're not really worth it.
The worst part is the metal used. The stuff is really thin, and is hard to solder to, making repares (which WILL) be needed) nearly impossible.
There are some great, lesser know saxes out there that are just as good as a yani/yami/keilwerth/selmer, and come with a significantly lower price tag.

The Jupiter Artist Series (the silver one's) are really nice... I know a person who has an alto and soprano one and another who has a tenor. A few of the parts have fallen off of the tenor but that was because he dropped it a whole lot. The alto is solid and the sop is solid. They are each under 2 years old though.
The student one's are indeed crap, I've played on a few and they where so inconsisstent from one to the other (throughout the same model) I went from one being a super dark sound to one having a super flimsy tone. |

Oh, I forgot about the artist series! Yeah, they are the best Jupiter has to offer. I would look that way if you are thinking about going Jupiter.

Yes, artists series are quality saxophones. Also very cheap, a professional tenor for $1.6k
Oh yea, and they look fantastic. _________________ Louis Scuderi
