sista,
I used to play on an Antigua tenor for about 2 years before I upgraded it to a Keilwerth SX90R last winter.
Generally, it was a nice horn. The key action wasn't the best, but I could get a great tone out of it (almost as good as the tone I get on the Keilwerth). For it being an intermediate saxophone, I would definately check it out. However, remember that not all brands of saxophones fit everyone. I thought I would have liked a Yamaha when I tried out my first tenors, but I didn't, despite the hype about them.
I personally would recommend Antigua for tenor, but it is not the best at projection, so it often becomes difficult to play with a full tone when it comes time to do any kind of lead playing or solo work with a band. It's a great horn for learning on, but think of it as a stepping stone. Others can disagree, but I found that it only did so much for me before I had to get a more professional horn that had more umph to it. I also found myself, in some settings, overblowing when trying to play loud. Part of that, though, could have been due to the mouthpiece that I was using. _________________ Audio clips in link below-
