I got my alto with gold plating for a little more than $3k. I got a great deal on it.

It's either a Reference or a Custom EX (Yamaha)

I have a Yamaha.

References are nice, but given a the choice, JP, I would get the EX.

PS- Of course I would rather have a Z.

Two great Selmer horns, big and little:

A SA 80 Serie II Bass and a SA 80 Serie III Soprano.

They both play great, but the bass is the head-turner. Best described as looking like a pregnant bari.

Selmer super action 80 serie 2, with clear lacquer and also a yamaha 23, my marching horn, actually still in great shape!
