Just had the pleasure and privilege to hear Doug Masek, in South Africa recently. He did one concert at the Hugo Lamprecht Music Centre, Cape Town and launched a new CD.
I fell in love with my Bb Sop all over again. Just the way he plays.
Anyone heard of him. I didn't untill now. Today I'm a fan!

Question? If you've never heard of him, how do you know he's good?

|

Here 's the rap on Doug Masek (must say I'm surprised you guys don't know about him).
His pretty impressive resume includes: Vandoren artist and Professor of saxophone at UCLA and California State Universities at Northbridge and Long Beach. His discography includes three solo albums (I bought the most recent which was launched in beautiful Cape Town). He performs on motion picture soundtracts for Sony, Warner, Paramount, Universal, Disney and 20th Century, among others. For more info his website is www. dougmasek.com.
Well that's the rap from Africa with love
