Having played with jazz musicians both here in Asia and in Europe I was curious to know what standards are the most popular, and most played at jam sessions around the world. What do people like to play when they meet other jazz musicians for the first time? Here, the tunes that come up time and time again include: Solar, Stella by Starlight, Autumn Leaves and various blues in major and minor keys. Ive lost count of how many times Solar has come up recently - and I still can't play it very well!
