Can anyone tell me is there any truth to the LA Sax 750-850 being made in Taiwan? I thought they were produced in the US.

and are the 750-850 models the SG signature lines?

Thanks

my LA Sax 850 was purchased from WWBW in 2004......and was an excellent horn - definitely assembled in the US.....don't know if parts were made in Taiwan though........

I know that all the LA SAX with a six numberserial number come from the new compagny. Anything with only 5 numbers was made in taiwan. They build them here in the states now, but are some pieces made in taiwan that i don't know. They probably still have a few components that are. But they are still very good horns anyways. If you actually have any questions you can allways call them, i have they are very nice, small compagny. I think they go under "Opus Music" you can find it when you go http://lasax.com/
This is true for the pro models, i think that maybe the student series still is made in taiwan, but not sure of that fact.

The number of digits has nothing to do with the year of manufacture. Prior to the introduction of the 650/750/850 series, the serial numbers were pretty much random. With the introduction of the new series, they became sequential.
