Ok so alot of people at my school believe that if your overwieght or obese then it effects your playing but if your thin and stuff then your playing is much better. Do any of you know if this is true or not?

Well, I have yet to see or hear of such a theory. I myself am a bit overweight, but people tell me I'm an awesome players so...maybe if I went on the starve yourself days diet I would become a more awesome player? Interesting...Mr. Green

I think the only thing that weight has effect on in your playing is breath support. I have noticed that overweight people tend to have better breath support than average or underweight people. I am 125 pounds and 5 ft 9 inches(about average weight) and consider myself to be a decent player for the amount of time I have been playing.

Shouldn't matter enough either way.

Gerry Mulligan was skinny and he played the baritone.
Cannonball Adderley was always fat and got a lot fatter and he could always belt it out the alto.

I doubt there is any correlation.
