Anybody ever played one of these? Are they worth the extra couple digits for the silver? Rick played a III alto and said it probably was one of the most free-blowing Selmer's he'd ever played. I might get one of these as a soprano come time to buy...

Play one and find out if you like it.
A little perspective: I can't think of a single saxophone "great" from back in the day that played on a silver saxophone regularly. |

Hmm....yea this is true. I'll see what I can do about play testing (finding a music store around here is like finding a needle in a haystack) _________________ JP

| I own one of these Sterling Silver altos they are smooth very smooth but not a jazz horn ,very classical ,very little edge ,,,,,and not small sounding like a MK VI ,,,very open and centred like a tree trunk of sound is in front of you ,,,,,,mine was handpicked at the selmer factory in Paris by Delangle ,,,just a super horn ,,is it worth the money ?????What is I guess one could play a brass just as well without anyone in the hall hearing a difference but the player definately hears it . One thing the silver is alittle more delicate and much heavier than the brass version |
