I'm wondering what I could get for my Serie II Alto! To me, I'm thinking I may have made a mistake ditching this horn for a P. Mauriat 67R! I've had the horn advertised for sale here on FOTS for about 2 weeks and very few have looked at it. I also have it on SOTW and have had a lot of windowshoppers, but no takers. I paid close to $2000 for it and have "gently used it" in my 2 years owning the horn. This particular one has a decent amount of 'edge'. It was originally purchased by a jazzer who tried a bunch of them side by side to decide which one to buy.

So, In your Humble Opinions, how much should I expect to get for this horn? How desirable are these horns these days?

Music Store?
Ebay?
Craig's List?

Thanks for your opinions!

I couldn't stand the Series II. Just seemed like another in the line of oddities they produced after they diverged from the Mark VI design - a design they've finally returned to.

Reisio...while your opinion is appreciated in other threads, the guy asked for the monetary value of his Serie II; not your two cents Evil or Very Mad

He asked how desirable they are these days. I told him how desirable I feel they are period.

I suppose...I just think that Greg is more concerned with the monetary aspect of his quest...why he would be I have no idea, but I have some inkling that that's the case.

Resio,
I have read a lot of your 'terse' posts on this site. You have a comment on everything...and it's mostly negative or apologetic (after the fact). I'll have to say I'm not offended by it, but it just doesn't help! I know this site just started about a year ago, but the moderators are trying their best (in a nice way) to calm you down. TAKE THE HINT!

I believe if you'd try to be helpful instead of sarcastic/terse/jerk-like/mean, there'd be a lot more of us visiting this forum, getting educated, selling stuff, enjoying the comraderie of fellow sax players, etc.

I hope you own a Ref 54. I play tested one against the P. Mauriat I just purchased...I bought the PM. Different strokes for different folks.

Let's keep this forum civil, ok?

JP,
I'm learning! Thanks for moving the post. I thought about putting it here, but I don't have the complete hang of this forum yet.

You're running a great forum here. I appreciate your efforts! Smile

Well Greg, the forum is actually Dave's (CMelodyMan), but he made me the co-administrator several months ago. I was one of the first members here and made a moderator of many forums not long after. So...yes, this is a great forum.

Reisio, check your PM's.
