I want to make my own reeds. Is this a good idea? And what is the best material to make reeds with?

Great Idea. Gives you a much better sound and tone than contemporary reeds. There's only one material I've ever heard someone make reeds out of. Cane. Same cane as in regular reeds. You should be able to order it or buy it at any large music store, especially one specifically in woodwinds. As to the manufacture, I'm at a loss. Not enough time in my day to make my own reeds. _________________ Music IS Life
