Steve Korn - Points in Time
Steve Korn (a drummer) and everyone else on this album are all Seattle-area players, and they sound fantastic!

A Long Time Ago - Camouflage - Bob Mintzer Big Band
It's hard to come by now, but there are a few copies on Amazon.com for as low as 8 bucks. Definitely check it out!
I was also listening to XXL - Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band a little while ago. That may have just become my new favourite big band album. It has such upbeat, funky sounding tunes - I just love it! _________________ Thomas Hay

George Garzone - Alone
This has become one of my favorite modern tenor albums. If you haven't heard Garzone play, you are really missing out! He is also featured on another amazing album I was listening to earlier today, Vernal Fields by Ingrid Jensen. _________________ My sound clips. |
