I've been trying to get a little avatar thingy going for the sidebar of my comments, but haven't managed to get a picture to get as small as 12k. Any tips on reducing file size on small jpegs- the last few times I've tried to squash down an image, the pixel size has got so big it renders the whole thing unusable. How are you folks doing it?

| Try converting it to PNG, then shrinking, then saving with indexed colors. |

Orrrr....
You can download a free avatar sizer and turn any pic, no matter what size, into a perfect avatar. Best of all, it's free of charge!

I use an iMac computer. I brought the image into an Appleworks document, resized it and saved it as a jpeg image. _________________ Good to see so many young sax players on the forum. |
